History of the Group

"With Ivan Nikolaevich about 3 years ago, we decided that it was necessary to make the musical project. We have conceived a casting, and selected some participiants, and in the pre-penultimate there were 10 girls. From these 10, the best appeared Katina and Volkova. All the time I was for Katina, Ivan was declined to Volkova more. Well, we doubted in common, and we have decided that it would be Lena Katina. Then Yugoslavia was bombed. Julia Olegovna Volkova

Julia was born when Lena was already four and a half months old, on February 20th, 1985 in the capital of their native land- Russia. Her father- Oleg, was already a rather successful businessman, and her mother- Larisa, only began her career as a hairdresser. Sven Martin

Keyboard-player and producer, who arranges each t.A.T.u.'s new song. Modest artist born on November 26th 1976 year, comes from small town Wuelfrath (Gerrmany), where he started classical piano lessons at age eight. He always wanted as a child to play on a keyboard. Being more inspired by what he was hearing on the radio than learning to play a song note by note he soon discovered that his real musical talent was being able to play by ear. Troy McCubbin

Singer, songwriter and guitarist, born on August 28th and raised in Traralgon Victoria (Australia) Troy MacCubbin is no stranger to the music industry. He began honing his craft at the tender age of ten, drawn to the guitar thanks to the guidance and influence of his father. Steve Wilson

Before joining t.A.T.u. in april 2006, Steve Wilson had the honor of recording, performing, and touring with some great band's and artists (a few of which happen to be his heroes from back in the day) including: Meat Loaf, Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), Dead Kennedy's, D.H. Doman Vajevec

Domen Vajevec was born in Slovenia. Now he lives with Sven & Troy in LA. 2001 he joined the band 'The high speed scene'. April 2006 he has joined the band of t.A.T.u.. He was in group "Chaza Rossa" with Troy and Sven. In year 2005 he took part in recording the sound path for movie "Grace" (Anthony Scarpa).

Roman Ratej

Former drummer of group, born in Slovenia. He has worked in his music career with current members of t.A.T.u., like Sven (in "Collisio" group). Roman Ratej seamlessly incorporates essential groove elements with a hard-hitting rock dynamicseldom heard in this genre.
