Steve Wilson

Before joining t.A.T.u. in april 2006, Steve Wilson had the honor of recording, performing, and touring with some great band's and artists (a few of which happen to be his heroes from back in the day) including: Meat Loaf, Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), Dead Kennedy's, D.H. Peligro (Dead Kennedy's, Red Hot Chile Peppers), Dave Weiner (Steve Vai Band), Mia Tyler, Hed PE, SX-10 (Featuring Sin Dog from Cypress Hill), New Dead Radio, 3rd Wish, Blind by Choice, and last but not least, the very first band he joined when he was only 13 year's old.. Hank. Steve grew up in a small farm town outside of St. Louis Missouri called Pacific (Pop 6,000). He stared playing drumms at age 4, joined his first band at 13, had his first club gig at age 16, and first professional recording at 17. In 98 he moved to Los Angeles and attended the Musicians Institute until March 00. In 01 he was invited to played on Dave Weiners debut solo album Shove the Sun Aside, which also included Virgil Donati and Phiilip Bynoe. His first record deal and European tour came in Feb. of 05 when his band Demean (Featuring Ares and Rico from the band Downset) signed to the indie label Hawino. Since then, he has played over 1,000 shows in 20 different countries on three different continents. Some of the people that he shares his life with and whom he loves very much... His son Brett, his lady Amanda, his mothers, his dads, his sisters, his in law's, and all his friend's and fam all over the world.

Steve says about his career, "My father is a country musician, so, growing up, there was always a Haggard or Jones song playing on the stereo, giving me a love and appreciation for Country and Western music. My sister, however, was a fan of several styles of music, and became the one person I give the most credit to for teaching me that it's okay to be into Hank Williams Jr. as well as Guns and Roses, and Michael Jackson simultaneously, which helped my scope and versatility..." and "It was at M.I. that I was exposed to many styles of music that I had never before tried to play on drums, and some music styles that I'd never heard before. All of the jazz and latin and hand drumming they taught me was pretty new to me, and I was eating up the fact that I got to wake up every morning and play drums all day. I was able to play with and record with musicians from all over the world, and it was in this time, the year and a half at M.I., that I really started to come into my own as a professional drummer. In this time I also started to do many Top 40/Cover band gigs on the weekends, which was great for playing a lot of variety and I credit this to both M.I. and to those cover gigs for being able to play more then just one kind of music on drums."
