Happy Smiles (ru. Veselye Ulybki) is the third t.A.T.u. studio album. The date of releasing the album has been postponing for a long time, finally the album was released 21. October 2008, first date was 25. Decemeber 2007. Julia and Lena said that postponing this album was caused this, that girls do the album on their own, without any collaborations with any big recordlabel. First name of 3rd studio album of the group was Waste Managament/Upravlenye Otbrosami. In cartboard cover with title "Happy Smiles", inside was included album "Upravlenye Otobrosami". t.A.T.u. group decided to put "Upravlenye Otbrosami" into "Happy Smiles" because of many reproaches, that their songs and albums have always so dark, and depressive names. "Happy Smiles" is ironic joke of the girls. Production of the material for new album began at the beginning of 2007 in Germany. In Spring of 2007 the band started working on songs in Los Angeles, but most of the songs were recorded in Europe (Moscow and London). Soyuz took up distribution of material produced by T.A. Music/t.A.T.u.. Since Soyuz got copyrights for "Happy Smiles", fans were able to buy the album in "physical" form in Soyuz Stores. Firstly album was released in "digital" form in popular, international music portal. Name "Happy Smiles" was used to promote their russian album. English version's title is first name of the album- Waste Management. Although the music videos promoting Happy Smiles/Veselye Ulybki were broadcast just by media in Russia, Poland (and a few countries from East Europe), the russian version of album Happy Smiles- Veselye Ulybki was released just in Russia, by Soyuz. Since t.A.T.u. group is in hiatus, this album is not promoted.
